ABOUT ARC AND THE ARC SPECIALIST PROGRAM
Introduction
The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) has as its stockholders the passenger carriers of the Air Transport Association (ATA). The board of directors is composed of representatives from ATA member carriers, other US and foreign air carriers, and the president of ARC. An executive committee, a technical committee, and a joint airline/agent advisory board act for, or make recommendations to, the board of directors as necessary. Many additional domestic and foreign carriers also participate in the ARC program.

ARC Services
ARC provides a method of approving authorized agency locations for the sale of transportation. An agent must meet strict financial, managerial and security standards before ARC can allow it to provide travel services on behalf of ARC's Carrier customers. Once approved, ARC provides accountable and non-accountable standard documents for the agent's use. Instructions for completion of these documents are contained in your Industry Agents' Handbook.

ARC oversees the Area Settlement Plan and the four area banks that act as a clearing house to provide a cost effective system for processing the records and funds of travel sales to carrier customers. Computer generated sales summaries are provided to each agent and carrier for their respective sales activity.

The headquarters of the Airlines Reporting Corporation is located at 4100 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203-1629. It is there that most of the administrative functions are performed, some of which include processing changes to agency names, addresses, banks accounts, etc. For the correct department to contact, refer to Section 1.2 of the Industry Agents' Handbook.
