Why are these courses important for me?

Agencies seeking approval for a new location on or after July 1, 1999 are required to have an ARC Specialist on staff in order to meet the personnel standards of the Agent Reporting Agreement. Locations covered by this requirement include Home Offices, branches, on-sites, CTDs, new independent entities, and Type II and V ownership changes.

What about new applicants?

New applicants for the ARC Specialist Program are recommended to take online training and testing covering the Four Basic Modules, IAR and the Memo Manager program if you are new to the industry. Students must pass the exam in order to receive their specialist status. If a student does not pass the ARC Specialist exam, they must retake the test paying full test-only tuition.

What if I'm already qualified an ARC Specialist?

Current ARC Specialists will be required to be re-designated by taking the entire ARC Specialist examination online or at a training site within four years of the date they first passed their ARC Specialist exam. ARC Specialists that do not pass will have the option of:

1. Taking the ARC Specialist training again, which will include the test, or,
2. Re-take the test, paying full test-only tuition.

Students that pass will be awarded an ARC Specialist Designation, which will be good for four years. Individuals who plan on becoming the ARC Specialist Qualifier (ASQ) at your location must submit a personal history form to ARC's Accreditation Department before acting in the capacity of the Qualifier for the given location.

The ARC Specialist Exam

The ARC Specialist Exam is based on the ARC Specialist Question/Answer Pool that is available from ARC via this link: http://www.arccorp.com/forms/ops/doc26.pdf

The ARC Specialist Exam will include 90 of the questions from the question pool. You should make a serious effort to study and learn from the question pool.

You must score at least 70% to pass the ARC Specialist Exam.
